Project Resilience

Project Resilience is designed to support our students at OSM Aviation Academy by providing additional support through the COVID-19 crisis. The pandemic has had a direct impact on pilot recruitment and in response to the situation, our instructors, students, and other co-workers have come together to find solutions that will help our Alumni to be ready for when the upturn comes and recruitment restarts.

Project Resilience for our graduated students✈️

Every student that has graduated in October 2019 and that will graduate in 2020 is initiative to come to OSM Aviation Academy, in Sweden or Norway, every other month, for a three hour simulator session together with a SIM partner. It is going to be completely free of charge.
This video was created for our students to introduce them to Project Resilience.

What about the students that will graduate 2021?🤔

As of right now, this covers graduated students from October 2019 until the entirety of 2020. We believe that next year, the recruitment will start up back again and therefore, that is where we set the limit.  However, the recurrent training sessions will be happening from September 2020 and the entirety of 2021. There will be a lot of opportunities to keep your skills fresh. For those who graduate in 2021, we think it is going to be sufficiently short period of time until the first interview so there wont be a need for this.

Tough times don’t last, tough people do!✊

We are currently going through a tough time and the COVID-19 situation looks like it is going to drag out for a while. This situation has a direct impact on pilot recruitment and that is the main reason to why we are launching this initiative to ensure that our students are able to train, stay fresh and be ready for when that job opportunity once again comes around.

We are all in this together💙

We will get through this, the job market will takeoff again and the aviation industry will make it out on the other side. How is it going to look? We do not know. A lot of airlines are going to struggle, some are going to disappear, but we are going to prevail.

As we battle our way through this, we are very excited to launch this new initiative, to introduce it to our students, that we love and care about and we really believe that this is a huge step in the right direction to make sure that you (our students) are ready for the opportunity when the upturn comes again.

It is not going to be a walk in the park🕛

It is going to demand something from you (our students) as well. The Boeing 737 simulators that we are going to be using are being constantly utilized in our Pilot Training Programs, which means that there are not a lot of hours left in a day to schedule this activity.

There is going to be two slots of three hours in the night starting at midnight till 3 o’clock for the first slot and 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock for the second slot. So, you are going to have to do your part and we know that you will, because you have worked so hard to get to where you are today and you are going to make all the right moves to make sure that you are ready once we come out of this.

#RESILIENCE 👩‍✈️👨‍✈️

Remember, tough times don't last, tough people do. It is not going to be easy, but we are going to get through this and we are going to be strong as ever, woven together and with lots of experience that are going to shape our character in the months to come.
